Delegate preparation, not personality
AI assistants are strongest at the mechanical work around dating: summarizing where threads stand, reminding you who is waiting on a reply, and surfacing what you and a match genuinely share.
They are weakest at being you. Openers drafted from real overlap are useful; whole conversations written by a model tend to collapse the moment you meet in person.
Only connect assistants that use documented access
A trustworthy assistant connects through an official interface like Model Context Protocol (MCP) with your own credentials. It should never ask for your password, and it can only see what your account can see.
PsiMatch ships an official MCP server precisely so agents do not have to scrape screens. Every tool an agent can call is published in our developer reference.
Set your delegation boundaries before you start
Decide in advance what your agent may do on your behalf, then check that the platform enforces those limits rather than trusting prompts alone.
- Reading matches and summaries: usually fine
- Drafting messages for your review: usually fine
- Sending messages automatically: off unless you consciously enable it
- Making match decisions without you: avoid
Keep the assessment honest
Psychometric matching works because your answers reflect how you actually are. If an agent fills out your questionnaire to game a score, every downstream introduction degrades with it.
Treat the assessment as the one part of the flow that must stay yours.
Watch for drift, not just rules
The subtle failure mode is not a broken rule - it is slowly outsourcing taste. If you cannot say why you liked someone without asking your agent, recalibrate.
Used this way, an assistant sharpens your judgment instead of replacing it: better questions, fewer dead-end threads, more of your own attention spent where it matters.
