Product-authored items — our methodology for novel constructs
Some items probe constructs that no public-domain validated scale covers well (lifestyle compatibility, daily-rhythm fit, shared-goal timing). We author them explicitly and label the provenance.

Educational context only, not a diagnosis or clinical assessment. Product-authored items are labeled where validated instruments do not apply.
§ 01 — Findings
What the study found
- Lifestyle and goals items probe constructs where validated scales are scarce; we author Likert items with explicit trait tagging and weight calibration.
- Items are reviewed for construct-irrelevant variance, redundancy (cosine >0.82 flagged), and reverse-keying quality before merge.
- Provenance label is honest: "Product-authored items; not a validated clinical instrument."
§ 02 — Encoding
How we encode it
- Why lifestyle compatibility scores carry descriptive value but should not be over-interpreted as predictive of long-term outcome.
